We live in a dynamic world which has changed the way we work using technology and where
we work (remotely) and as part of our role as accountants, we need to minimise the risk of
fraudulent activities. The Tax Practitioner Board provides us with practical guidance to
manage that risk. This means we need to ID check our customers to make sure they are who they say
they are.
Our NZ-based partner, Cloudcheck, checks your photo ID against an image of you from your
device, and also checks the address on your ID document against some standard available
databases. If you're not using a NZ or an Australian ID document, Cloudcheck can still
compare the images, but it can't verify your address.
In this instance, you'll need to send us a proof of address document. We can collect these
from well-known organisations, such as your bank, local council, electricity or phone
provider.
You'll need to take a copy of a bill addressed to you, showing your physical home
address, and send it into our Support team at support@beany.au
No PO Box numbers please!
If you're also unable to confirm your ID document through Cloudcheck (meaning Cloudcheck cannot match your image to the ID photo) then you'll need to send us a scanned
coloured copy of your photo ID (front and back). Please make sure the scan of the photo of
yourself on the ID is clear and a good size.
